The design of the Lauf forks is based around eliminating all “moving parts”, and therefore, friction and maintenance. You can ride without worries through sand, salt, desserts and ice - the performance will stay the same.
29” / 27.5+
The TR Boost takes both 29” wheels and 27.5+ wheels as they share the same diameter, roughly.
29x2.8” / 27.5x3.0”
Put a 27.5+ 3” tire under for more grip and playfulness or go for slightly larger 29” tires (in diameter) for a more racy setup. It’s always good practice to double check the fit beforehand.
60mm / 2.35"
This is the sweet spot for our forks. Since the travel is fairly short and progressive, we don’t need damping. That makes the fork a lot simpler and maintenance free.
1.000g / 2.2 lbs
The Trail Racer fork is very light when compared to other XC suspension forks. It makes the whole front end of the bike more agile on technical climbs. Be prepared to lift your front wheel over rocks instead of navigating past.
The low unsprung weight is one of the design elements that makes this fork extremely good at tracking small bumps and chatter which gives you great traction and isolates you from vibration.
Regular (over 65kg riders) / Light (under 70kg riders)
This should be used as a reference. If you’re an aggressive rider it’s likely that you’d prefer the “Regular” stiffness, even though you weigh less than 70kg. You won’t lose any of the small bump compliance.
110kg / 243lbs
This should be your weight in race gear.
15mm Lauf Thru Axle (M15x1.5)
We supply all forks with our own axles. We made a lightweight low profile axle which requires a 6mm allen key. If you prefer a lever, you can replace it with e.g. the RockShox Maxle.
The TR Boost uses boost hub spacing (110mm). You can use a spacer kit to use a non-boost hub, but to fully take advantage of the boost technology you should use a boost hub.
Goes hand in hand with our Axle to Crown length. This fork is designed to “trail” the same as a 80-100 mm suspension fork.
It’s designed to replace a 100mm XC fork. When you take sag into account on a normal telescopic fork, the axle to crown length is roughly the same.
Tapered 1-1/8" - 1-1/2" (uncut length 250mm)
It’s also possible to fit our forks on bikes that have an oversized headtube (44mm). In order for the fork to fit the lower bearing needs to be changed to a 1.5”.
180mm is minimum but if you prefer a larger rotor a spacer can be used.
